Additive Primaries. The additive primary colours are red, green and blue (often shortened as RGB). When added together in equal amounts at 100% intensity, white light is created. When added together in different proportions, all other colours can be created. Red + Blue = Magenta Red + Green = Yellow Blue + Green = Cyan Red + Blue + Green = White

Additive vs. Subtractive Color Models - HunterLab …

Also known as the RGB color model, additive color is the process of adding one set of wavelengths to another to create a new color — thus the term additive. The visible light spectrum’s primary colors — red, green and blue — are mixed in different combinations and at varying levels of intensity to produce secondary colors.

Subtractive Primaries - Media College

    https://www.mediacollege.com/lighting/colour/subtractive-primaries.html
The subtractive primary colours are cyan, yellow and magenta. These colours are used in print media for dye and pigments. They are distinct from the additive primaries used when considering light sources and RGB colour models. Subtractive primaries are so-called because they subtract (absorb) certain colours from the light falling upon them.

Subtractive Primaries

Keep in mind that the additive primaries-red, green, and blue-are the basic starting colors from which all other colors of light can be created. When you are working with light, the additive primaries produce all the other colors; however, they will not do this as dyes or pigments ; for example, blue and green dyes cannot be mixed to produce cyan, though blue and green light can.
