Canon 90D - A Bird Photographers Perspective Oct 23, 2019 8 ... One of the most important features for wildlife and bird photography is the capability and accuracy of the tracking AF. While I've seen some very nice photos of BIF captured with the 90D, other users have reported that the AF simply cannot keep up very well with the subject despite ...

Many people use the 80D quite successfully for birding. With the upgrades the 90D should do very well for birds too. At least based on specs at this point. Sometimes not taking a photograph can be as problematic as taking one. - Alex Webb.

Really nice to carry and the AF is miles ahead of the 7DII. Even with the 1.4x extender image quality remains outstanding wide open but the focusing speed and flexibility takes a big hit. My biggest issue is muscle memory! When taking the lens or converter off/on I still try to move it the Canon way.

Together with the high frame rate, this will make it a killer combination for many BIF assignments. For opportunistic general bird photography the 90D + 400 mm will be an outstanding combination with resolution equivalent to 1DxII + 800 mm. Think about 90D + 100-400 mm Mk II and 90D + 400 mm f/4 DO II. Cheers, Ian

In short, unless you want to make the very large outlay to step up in Canon's lens line to the top-end telephotos (which enable focal lengths including 560 mm at f/5.6, 600 mm at f/4, or 700 mm at f/5.6), I'm fairly convinced the Canon APS-C sensor camera has a place in bird photography - but ideally with something like the 90D sensor in a ...

p.1 #2 · p.1 #2 · Canon 90D - A Bird Photographers Perspective I was disappointed by your review. The least you could have done (and still have a chance to correct) is to post bird photos and especially BIF photos that you took with the 90D.

Camperjim wrote: I have never tried DXO or Noise Ninja, but the free Canon DPP software does a great job of noise reduction while retaining details. It also includes a diffraction correction algorithm which is very powerful and is overall a pretty decent substitute for Lightroom.

Not exactly the world’s best test of high ISO, in such bright light, but I was pleased with the performance at ISO 8000. Note this again is default settings ...
