    https://www.makeuseof.com/dpi-settings-for-digital-photos/
Photos adapted for use on the web will usually have a 72 DPI, optimized for speedy, on-page consumption. Ideally, the image has already been loaded before the user scrolls down to see it. For sites like Instagram and Facebook, the smaller and lighter the file, the better.

All About Digital Photos - What is DPI?

    http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/whatisdpi.html
DPI stands for Dots Per Inch which technically means printer dots per inch. Today it is a term often misused, usually to mean PPI, which stands for Pixels Per Inch. So when someone says they want a photo that is 300 dpi they really mean that they want 300 ppi. PPI is simple arithmetic, it is the digital photo's pixels dimensions divided into the paper size to be printed.

DPI and PPI Explained — Andrew Dacey Photography

If you set the image to print at 10 PPI, then you'd have a 10" x 10" image. If you set the image to print at 100 PPI, you'd have a 1" x 1" image. Note that adjusting this value doesn't effect the number of pixels in the image at all, it just changes how big the print will be. Take our 100 x 100 pixel image again.

Digital Photo Resolution | Science Project

This measurement is called the "resolution" of the photo and is measured in "dpi" or dots per inch. A high dpi has more pixels and is a better quality image we call this a high resolution image. A low dpi has fewer pixels and is a lower quality image, called a low-resolution image.

Understanding Digital Image Resolution - Digital Photo

If the long dimension of an image file is 3,000 pixels, at 300 dpi your image will measure 10 inches in length. At just 100 dpi it will measure 30 inches in length; a lot bigger, yes, but with less detail than at 300 dpi. Interestingly, you can compare the difference between an 8×10 print and a huge billboard for more clarity on the concept.

DPI vs PPI - What is the Difference? - Photography Life

    https://photographylife.com/dpi-vs-ppi
Many print labs suggest that you deliver your digital files at a resolution of 300 PPI (although some will mistakenly ask for a resolution of 300 DPI). So, divide your digital image dimensions by 300 to determine the biggest print possible from your file.

Resolution, Megapixels, DPI Explained | Photo Pathway

    https://www.photopathway.com/resolution-megapixels-dpi-explained/
DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. So basically if we have, for example, 10 DPI resolution then it means that for each square inch of image we have 100 pixels (10 by 10) with information regarding their color, intensity, etc. And these 100 pixels are taking the whole square inch, so they each pixel has certain size.
