    You can use a tripod or a monopod, but a monopod is best if you are taking a lot of photographs. If you are taking pictures of teas that have a lot of tiny details (e.g. Darjeeling, Gunpowder) you should use a zoom lens with a maximum aperture of 2.8 or higher, and ideally use a macro lens to reduce the effects of the depth of field.
