Some define astrophotography as shooting via telescope and an adapter for the camera body but if you are like me and enjoy Wide Field Astrophotography then the Fuji X-E2 and X-T1 work quite well. All of the photos below were taken using the 18-55mm "Kit Lens" or the 18mm prime with the X-T1.

As you can see below, even unmodified, the X-T1 is able to show the Ha areas of the Horsehead Nebula pretty well! The Panasonic already seemed like a very capable astro camera, as you can see on his Instagram feed. The X-T1 adds a little more dynamic range and better low light performance, which is always useful in astrophotography.

Fuji X-T1 Review - Photography Life

Hand-holding the camera is very comfortable for my hands and the new protruded grip certainly adds to that experience. I found the X-T1 to be much more comfortable to hold than the X-Pro1, X-E1/X-E2, and X-M1 cameras. With an XF lens like the Fuji 35mm f/1.4, the camera balances very well when hung from the neck.

Astrophotography lens choices with X-T1 - FujiX-Forum

    1) X-T1 with 27mm f/2.8 (A pancake doesn't seem like a likely candidate as they are generally engineered for convenience more than tack sharpness.) 2) X-T1 with 35mm f/1.4 (Will give me the speed for exposure but of course I'll be limited in exposure times before smearing/trails) 3) X-T1 with 56mm f/1.2 (Will give me TONS of speed but yet again ...

An Introduction to Astrophotography with your X Series – …

With Astrophotography, things are a little different. Because you will be shooting in the dark (obviously!), you will want to shoot with a fast lens. For people who attend my workshops, I usually recommend shooting with at least an F2.8 lens as you want to let as much light in as possible. When I use the Fujifilm XF16mm lens, I can shoot wide ...

Affordable Fujifilm X Astrophotography Kit + Milky Way Photography …

Milky Way Photography Tips. Proper gear. To capture the whole milky way, you will need a fast, wide lens and a camera with good high ISO performance. Lenses from 10mm to 24mm focal lengths with an aperture of 1.4 to 2.8 would work very well. You will also need a sturdy tripod, as a long exposure will be necessary. A cable release is also helpful.

Fujifilm X-Trans Camera (X-M1) Astrophotography Review

    http://www.scopeviews.co.uk/FujiXM1.htm
Fujifilm X-Trans Camera (X-M1) Astro-Photography Review. Fuji X-M1 is tiny compared to an EOS 6D. Note: I wrote this brief review a few years back, but it’s still relevant because Fuji just don’t make a cheap X-Trans body like the X-M1 anymore. All their smaller cheaper models are conventional APS-C, up to and including the X-T100. So if you want to try X-Trans in a cheap …
