    An archive of 1400 Chris Killip images can now be viewed by anyone visiting the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol. In 2018, Killip in conjunction with Pony, London made four new newsprint publications: The Last Ships - 36 of Chris Killip's shipbuilding photographs will be on show at the Laing Gallery, Newcastle Upon Tyne, until May 24, 2020.

Christopher David Killip (11 July 1946 – 13 October 2020) was a Manx photographer who worked at Harvard University from 1991 to 2017, as a Professor of Visual and Environmental Studies. Killip is known for his black and white images of people and places especially of Tyneside during the 1980s.

Killip was a professor of photography in VES (now Art, Film, and Visual Studies) from 1991 to 2017, and the department chair from 1994 to 1998.

    In June 1964 he decided to pursue photography full time and became a beach photographer in order to earn enough money to leave the Isle of Man. In October 1964 he was hired as the third assistant to the leading London advertising photographer Adrian Flowers. He then worked as a freelance assistant for various photographers in London from 1966-69.
