    The telescope are usually around 1000mm as most of the magnification is via the eyepiece. The SDUF II tube is only 400mm, so I'll need to figure out how to add a lens to the setup. The nice thing about the Pentax scopes is that they were designed with Astrophotography in mind and will use K mount, 645 and 67 gear.

    The KP is an excellent choice. A friend of mine (using a K70) who I go out shooting Milky Way astro with uses the Sigma 18-35/f1.8.     Pentax for Astrophotography. Jan 27, 2017. 1. Recently I saw a friend use pentax to shoot M42. He used pentax K1 and shoot at 450mm x 1.5=675mm with 150-450mm lens and astrotracing function of K1. The astrotracing function allow him to expose for 20sec at 675mm. No equatorial instrument is used, the M42 is remain a spot after 20sec.
