- The best time to photograph the Dead Horse Point is at sunrise, so get there at least an hour earlier. Bring a stable tripod and if the weather forecast shows gusty winds, make sure to bring a heavy duty tripod – you do not want your gear flying off those sharp cliffs!

- Even though Dead Horse Point can be photographed at either sunset or sunrise, I much prefer sunrise. However, I would suggest doing both if possible. Early Morning is the best time to capture this classic view of the gooseneck in the river and Canyonlands just beyond it. Sunset is also good for a variety of shots but not for this classic view.
