I'm trying to photograph a purple item for the first time. It's a true purple (think Jimi Hendrix, hippie...) velvet monk's dress (coat), but I get a psychedelic acid blue. I'm shooting on a black background. I have two lights and I do not use the flash. I have tried a few variations including shooting with my chandelier lit with the two lights.

Photographing purple herons in Wagbachniederung I was spending 2 days beginning of June 2021 in nature reserve Wagbachniederung nearby Karlsruhe, which is famous for being one of the few breeding grounds of purple herons in Germany. I spent the night in Hotel Waghäuseler Hof, which was about a 30min feet walk away from the nature reserve.

The Color Purple It's important to me that the colors in my photos nearly match the color of the product in hand. After unsuccessfully photographing an orange and baby blue greeting card I made for Mother's Day, I thought I needed to update my camera.

    https://digital-photography-school.com/correct-purple-fringing-photoshop/
What is Purple Fringing? Purple fringing is when you get purple color in high contrast boundary areas in an image that was most likely taken in low light situations with a brighter background. It is most often attributed to a chromatic aberration that occurs commonly with digital cameras, but purple fringing can also be caused by lens flare.

Why does purple show up as blue in the photo?
