For lens resolving power: The sweet spot is usually the centre of the lens. All lenses get sharper as you move in from the edges towards the centre. On certain lenses, distortion occurs towards the edges as well. For lens aperture: The sweet spot usually means 2-3 stops smaller than max aperture of lens. Some people say its between f8 - f11.

Re: Sweet spot. It entirely depends on the lens, the sensor format (theres a balance between sharpness and onset of diffraction softening, particularly on 1.6crop) and the area of the frame in which you most value maximum sharpness. For fast primes, around f5.6 in many cases, for fast zooms maybe f8.

This is something I’ve been pondering for a while. If you have a sweet spot on your lens aperture f8 –f11 and your ISO sweet spot is under 1200 is there also a sweet spot for shutter speed? If I’m shooting at 1/6400 will the quality of the photo be the same if I was shooting 1/30. Assuming everything is equal and there is no vibration?
