- Distortion is very well controlled. Canon 5D, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, 14mm. The build quality of this lens is phenomenal, especially for a third party manufacture. I think it will work well for automotive photography, but you are going to get the "unique" perspective inherent to any ultra-wide lens. - The 50d is a nice, capable camera. Also the Magic Lantern hack looks very useful too. I think the Tokina ATX 11-16mm f/2.8 would be a great lens to use with your setup. I don't have one myself, but I have seen a lot of impressive images taken using it. I think there are two versions available.
