How to photograph wine bottles with speedlights and a kit lens

    The initial setup is quite simple. A speedlight in a softbox to one side, with a large diffuser in between the softbox and the glass. This large soft surface provides nice light on the gold cap and white label of the bottle. It also gives a nice long reflection down the left side of the glass. And this is what the setup gives us.

    #3 - Control the light graduations in the bottle reflections by using white foamcore cards, black board, silver cards and/or gold cards purchased from an art supply store. Position them around the bottle to your liking. Some people use articulate arms to position cards on their set. #4 - Lighting the back of the bottle is the HARD PART.
